New York Adirondacks Multisport Tour

August 18-23, 2024

Aug. 25-30, 2024

Bike, Hike, and Paddle in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid

Less than a half-day’s-drive from Boston, New York, or Montreal lies a vast unspoiled wilderness where nature remains pristine and untouched. Come and join us in August as we escape to the Adirondack Park, an expansive playground for cyclists, hikers, and kayakers alike.

Whether by bike, on foot, or with paddle, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable week exploring the six-million-acre Adirondack Park – greater in size than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier, and the Grand Canyon national parks combined. Luckily for us, nearly half of this Park is now a Forest Preserve, constitutionally protected to remain “Forever Wild.”

Highlights

  • Exciting multisport vacation with 5 bike rides, 4 short walks, 2 boat trips, and 1 signature kayak excursion
  • Explore the expansive Adirondack Park, famous for towering fir trees, sparkling lakes and rivers, and spectacular mountains
  • Visit the award-winning Wild Center (also known as the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks)
  • Visit the top of Whiteface Mountain, New York’s fifth-highest peak, with spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of New York, Vermont, and Canada
  • Private narrated boat tour of Lake Placid

BIKE in the fresh mountain air

The outstanding beauty of the Adirondack Park is best experienced from the seat of a bicycle. Cycle on beautiful country roads with unrivaled mountain views. Enjoy scenic rides alongside babbling brooks and majestic lakes. Soak up the thrill of an eight-mile downhill ride with views up to 125 miles away. Challenge yourself by cycling up Whiteface Mountain (or take the van up). Bike to your next hike, paddle, or meal.

We offer a total of five bike rides throughout the week. You may cycle at your own pace, and get a ride in the van whenever you like. We also have a limited supply of e-bikes available (no additional charge).

HIKE in the wilderness

With more than 2,000 miles of hiking & walking trails winding through the Adirondack Park, the adventure is yours for the taking. Interspersed with our bike rides, we also offer four easy walks through scenic gorges, around a natural history museum, up an Alpine Nature Trail, and a healing walk through the woods in the High Peaks region.

KAYAK in pristine lakes and rivers

The Adirondack Park boasts an impressive array of scenic waterways – over 3,000 pristine lakes and ponds and 2,000 miles of rivers. These waterways are a playground for paddling enthusiasts.

For our signature kayak/canoe trip we’ll treat you to a downstream journey on the Raquette River, through the heart of the High Peaks Wilderness Area. This river has been the main “highway” through the Adirondack wilderness for the last 200 years, and is now part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Our trip is 3-4 miles long (2-3 hours) and features a winding journey through an amazing series of twists, turns, elbows, and oxbows. The area is abundant in wildlife, and loons, osprey, great blue herons, bald eagles, river otters, and minks may share your journey.
