Our tour guides are the heart of the business, we all know that. They can help make or break your bicycle vacation. We want them to be enthusiastic, fun, supportive, patient, informative, and encouraging. We depend upon them to haul our luggage, fix our bikes, feed us, and generally take excellent care of us. So why entrust your bicycle vacation to just any average-joe guide? It’s time to travel with the best Great Bike Tours!
First – What is a Tour Guide?
Great Bike Tour Guides are responsible for helping people to visit new and unfamiliar areas. They usually make special trips with groups of tourists in order to show them important and interesting places.
What Makes a Great Bike Tour Guide Special?
Great Bike Tour Guides are familiar with an area and can share facts, history, landmarks, and more with their guests. Tour guides can answer tour related questions about routes, elevation, distances of the days cycling trip, accommodations, schedules, and about any other circumstances that may arise on your trip making your trip insightful and memorable. They are experienced cyclers themselves and will do all they can to ensure your day is safe and care free.
Meeting with Your Guide Before the Activities of the Day
Typically after breakfast we meet to plan our day, shuttles, lunch, and afternoon/ dinner details before we head out so you know what is in store for you throughout the day. You will be informed of shuttles, tours, and free time as well any additional touring opportunities and associated costs. There will also be a bike fitting and safety talk on the first day of your tour.
What happens if I don’t want to finish the ride via bike?
Each of our trips is supported by two 15-passenger vans. Two vehicles makes it easier for us to cater to everyone’s needs and desires – we have enough room in our air-conditioned vans for everyone on the tour – no more waiting by the side of the road because the van is full.
The vast majority of our trips will have three leaders and two vans. We may even add a 4th guide if it will benefit the tour. On some of our smaller trips (13 people or less), we might opt for two leaders and one van, as long as we can still guarantee everyone a seat in the van while maintaining our exemplary level of service.
By providing multiple van support we can load your bike and you can enjoy the scenery and rest of trip riding in the van with guide/driver.
How Many Guides Will Be With Group?
Our great tour leaders are the key to your fantastic vacation. You’ll be in great hands with these professionals – not only are they highly experienced, but our guides are also friendly and fun, kind and compassionate, and enthusiastic and encouraging. Most companies provide you with two guides per trip, but we’ve decided to up-the-ante by providing you with three top-notch guides per trip. You’ll receive such great service, that we know you’ll be back!
Will Non Cycling Guests Spend Time in Van with Guide During Cycling Portions of Trip?
Most of our trips can accommodate non-cyclers in a way that they do not feel as if they are not part of the group. Though they are welcome to ride the cycling routes in the vans with the guides, they also will have the opportunity to enjoy time exploring on their own, taking advantage of some of the hotels amenities such as spa services, as well as participating in the many multisport activities that are offered on our tours.
